The Seacon Group was established more than half a century ago through the clear vision and long sightedness of Mr VIchai and Mrs. Boonsom Sosothikul who were overseas Chinese immigrants without so much as a roof over their heads when they first arrived in Thailand. But through sheer determination, perseverance and discipline, they were able to start a small business that gradually expanded to become what is now the Seacon Group. For the first generation of the Sosothikul family, each step taken has increased the potential, stability and strength of the Seacon Group. Whatever industry the family has ventured into, it has met with great success and has won recognition and acclaim.

          The Seacon Group’s unique approach to business has made it stand out as a pioneer. Its innovations are well-known to Thais of all generations; the school sneakers with green soles by Nanyang, the production of the first Thai Monosodium Glutamate(food seasoning) brand under the name Thai Churos, the development of the first retail arcade in Bangkok at Siam Square 50 years ago, the first construction company to build prefabricated homes by Seacon Home, the development of first housing estate known as Mitraparp and the development of Seacon Square which was the largest mall in Asia at the time it was built. The second and third generation of the Sosothikul family has continued to grow the Group, branching out into other businesses such as property development, hotels and architecture & interior design.

          The many different businesses that comprise the Seacon Group are all built on the same business philosophy of honesty and integrity. This philosophy will continue to define its relationships with consumers, partners and suppliers in the years to come.
